The Hindu Center of Being
I proposed to give you an exercise in the previous article, it can help you to get a stabilization in the heart as the Hindu Center of Being according to some conceptions of that culture.
The completion of this exercise will provide you a state of expansion in which you can begin to feel Life and much of your anxiety or depression will disappear.
But before moving on to the explanation of the exercise, let me give you some thoughts on the importance of not underestimating the role of the heart in well-being and mental health.
You should know that in many ancient cultures when the heart is figuratively spoken of as the center of Being, reference is not made only to the red muscle that pumps the blood.
It is the center that serves to connect with the essence of who we are in a great experience that goes beyond the sense organs.
For example, the Quran states that it is not our eyes that are blind, but our hearts.
When we connect properly to the “Heart,” from which the source of life springs, we can perceive the truly transcendental.
Hence also comes the true meaning of the Latin word “intellectus” (intellect).
That is why the advice is clear and at the same time deep: “WHEN YOU WANT TO FEEL LIFE AND BE ROOTED IN YOUR ESSENCE; OPEN YOUR HEART AND NOT YOUR MIND.”
And the exercise is very easy: I invite you, from now on, do everything as if it came out of the heart.
For example, when you talk to another person, try to speak from the heart, as if the heart were the one communicating with that person and not the mind.
That is, from now on, forget a little of the mind and try to do everything from the heart: think, speak and act. Just try and see.
On the importance of the heart, as the center of Being, one of the greatest philosophers, musicians, poets and playwrights of India; Rabindranath Tagore said:
“LORD, TUNE WELL THE STRINGS OF MY HEART SO THAT EVERY TIME YOU TOUCH THEM, THEY SING LOVE.”
As a summary
As you can see, I have dedicated several articles (around 10) to understand the importance of mental health and the essential role for this mental health and the well-being plays the possibility of stabilize in what different ancient cultures called: The Center of Being.

Therefore, if you decide to practice them, I recommend you to consider the following:
1-It does not matter the center of the Being that you exercise, they all have the same function of being able to connect with your essence, they all take you to the existential dimension where you can fully feel Life. Hence in your practice you can use one or more of these centers or move from one to another interchangeably.
2-If you do that, experimentation allows you to create your own center of Being over time, because the center can actually be anywhere. The important thing is to understand that this center is pure stillness from where the whole movement of forms emerges.
